Dietrich Rauschtenberger & Michael Sievert

Dietrich Rauschtenberger, Schlagzeug und Percussion, geb. 1939 in Schwelm, begann Mitte der Fünfziger Jahre in Dixieland- und Swing-Bands zu spielen. 1960 gründete er mit dem Saxofonisten Peter Brötzmann und dem Bassisten Peter Kowald ein Trio, eine der ersten Free Jazz-Gruppen in Europa. Konzertreisen führten ihn in die USA, nach Russland, Sibirien und nach Zentralasien.
Er arbeitet international mit Musikern und Vertretern anderer Kunstformen, wobei zumeist die Improvisation im Vordergrund steht. Eine besondere Leidenschaft sind seit den siebziger Jahren Performances mit Musik und Literatur.
Er hat zahlreiche Bücher veröffentlicht und war schrieb zwischen 1987 und 1999 für das Jazzmagazin Jazzthetik.

Michael Sievert, Saxofonist und Komponist wurde 1953 in Chemnitz/DDR geboren.
Er arbeitet seit 1987 in verschiedenen Ländern Europas, in Afrika und den USA.
1983 schloss er seine Studien für ethnische und zeitgenössische Musik und Komposition an der Creative Music Foundation in Woodstock N.Y. ab.
Er ist Gründungsmitglied des internationalen "Woodstock World Music Ensemble", sowie des Bremer New-Jazz Trios "Freeport".
Neben zahlreichen Crossover Produktionen mit klassischen Musikern für Radio Bremen widmete er seine kompositorische Arbeit im elektronischen Bereich in den neunziger Jahren vor allem dem von Gustav Gisiger ✝ entwickelten Licht- und Klangraum mit dem Titel "théârtre imaginaire".

Dietrich Rauschtenberger (born 1939, Schwelm, Germany) is a drummer, percussionist and writer. He started his musical career playing in Dixieland and Swing bands in the mid fifties. 1960 he co-founded a trio with Peter Brötzmann and Peter Kowald. By this time they represented one of the earliest free-jazz bands in Europe.
Concert dates took him to the U.S., Russia, Sibiria and Middle Asia. He works with international musicians and exponents of other art forms, focusing mainly on improvisiational contexts. Since the seventies he developed a particular passion for performing as a drummer accompanying the recitals of his own writings.
He published numerous books and worked editorially, as well as in terms of content for the jazz magazine Jazzthetik between 1987 and 1999.

Michael Sievert (born 1953, Chemnitz, GDR) is a saxophonist and composer.
Since 1987 he works throughout Europe, in Africa and in the U.S.
In 1983 he completed his studies on ethnic- and contemporary music and composition at the Creative Music Foundation, Woodstock N.Y.
He is co-founder of the international "Woodstock World Music Ensemble" and the Bremen new-jazz trio "Freeport".
Besides numerous crossover productions with classical musicians for Radio Bremen, in the nineties he dedicated his compositional work mainly to a light-and sound environment named "théârtre imaginaire", which was developed by Gustav Gisiger ✝. During that period of time he got more and more interested in the techniques of sound design, which lead to the foundation of his company named Corporate Arts in the year 1999.
